Fattoria Tregole

Tregole, a winery and romantic residence in the unspoiled, famous Chianti Classico district, is near Castellina in Chianti as well as not far from the San Gimignano and Val D’Orcia UNESCO sites and cities of art like Florence and Siena.

As the best place for a revitalizing vacation in natural surroundings, it offers history, walks, good food, excellent wine, a swimming pool, and a generally relaxing atmosphere.

Tregole’s roots date back to the year 1003 when the Badia Coltibuono monks mentioned a Lombard settlement and the purchase of locally produced grain. Unfortunately, the hard times during the Middle Ages meant that Tregole suffered ups and downs, expansions and collapses, insecurity, banditry, and famine.

Tregole became home to the Palagi family in the 1300s.

They built the oratory chapel dedicated to St. Joseph in 1580 and managed the farm into the 1960s. The last Palagi heiress, childless and elderly, sold the property. After passing through several owners, the Conte family purchased this wonderful piece of paradise. Today Sophie Conte’s youthful flair is seen in how she manages the farm and its hospitality. Today the farm has 5.5 ha for wine production and accommodations for 20 people.

“Tregole, Sangiovese, and Nature with passion, respect, and dedication”
The vineyards are based almost exclusively on the noble Sangiovese vine, the mega-star of this small valley.
